Through innovative collaborations with Curated and Sadler's Wells, these artist led films provide audiences with a unique understanding of the contemporary and classical dance world in the UK today. Every movie takes us behind the scenes, with an extraordinary dancer from different backgrounds and styles, at different stages of our careers. We follow their process of creating new works, exploring the ideas and themes that inspire them through dance works, which will be presented in expanded sequences in the movie. The movie "The Dying Swan" uses a lyrical and elegant metaphor from a ballet classic about death, exploring how dancers struggle with age, physical decline over time, and fear of retirement. Former head of the Royal Ballet, Zeneida Yanovsky, plans to overcome knee surgery and restore his health to perform a swan song, one of the most famous solo pieces of the ballet, "The Dying Swan.". For Zeneda, this is her last public performance before ending her acclaimed career in classical ballet. This movie also tells the story of an encounter between Zeneida and the rising star of the Royal Ballet, Russian dancer Natalia Osipova, who reflects on the daily life of The Dying Swan.
