Israeli director Ari Foleman's critically acclaimed Waltz With Bashir pulls the political trigger for the Sabra and Shatila massacre in 1982. Foleman's debut animated documentary took four years to complete, internationally co-production with Israel, German and France. The quality of the animation is a promise – from the opening which a pack of rabid dogs hurl towards the screen. It pummels the audience a horrific memory of the 1982 massacre of thousands of innocent Palestinians at the Sabra and Shatila refugee camps in Lebanon, aided by the Israeli army.
